John Jacob Thomas was a Trinidadian intellectual who is best known today for Froudacity, his scathing rejoinder to Froude’s book, The English in the West Indies. Thomas was aware that Froude’s book was circulating in London and worried about its implications for the British Caribbean colonies. book is laid bare.
